What to expect

Our theme this month is 🌬️ reciprocity 🌳, in honor of the importance of reciprocal relationships. When we breathe out carbon dioxide, which trees absorb and they in turn produce oxygen, which sustains human life... we are in reciprocal relationship. 

During a time of year where we are called to reflect on and give thanks for the things we are grateful for, we will explore how to live in reciprocal relationship with other humans and with the land. 

This workshop is held just a day after Transgender Day of Remembrance and about a week before a "holiday" that "celebrates" the genocide of Indigenous people and culture, both of which represent incredibly violent and horrific human acts.

Practicing reciprocity does not erase our violent past, but it does offer a portal to a more harmonious and caring future.

We will feature poets and poems that reflect reciprocal relationships, with a particular focus on Indigenous and trans poems and poets.

You are invited to listen and/or share some of your work, or share poems from your favorite poet(s).

No pressure to share - you can just hang out and take it in, cameras on or off are fine.

You might also use this time to create some poetry (along with the prompts or on your own) to share or not share.
