A coaching relationship with me is one in which there is space to explore your own needs and body's rhythms, to learn and reflect on what your authentic self is and how to creatively reveal this, to bring slowness and play and curiosity and full expression of self. There is space for all of you here*

Want to know how I can coach humans with such a wide range of lived experiences?

Because everything listed here has also been a part of MY journey. I am ready to meet you wherever YOU are on any of these paths. If one or more of the statements over there resonates with you, let’s connect about beginning a coaching relationship!

Ready to dive in?

Have some lingering questions?

*Note:

While I do work with as much of your SELF as you are willing and able to bring to sessions, I am not a licensed medical doctor or therapist.

While some of the coaching tools I use overlap with parts-work, I have no formal training in Internal Family Systems or parts-work and recommend that you also see a therapist for any deeper IFS and/or parts-work processing that you’d like to pursue.

Similarly, while I am a human that deeply understands my own chronic illnesses and the medical systems that I have personally navigated, I am not a medical doctor and will not diagnose or prescribe. I recommend that you also see a medical professional throughout the course of our coaching engagement if you are navigating health challenges.

You might find it satisfying to work with me if…

You have a desire to find your own rhythm or pace

You are searching for “home” in a physical location, a sacred path or calling, and/or in yourself

You are doing the work to understand and integrate multiple identities, privileged and marginalized, that you embody

You are highly sensitive and/or want to access your intuition

You are seeking creative outlets for expression

You desire to live and love in a body that dominant culture wants to erase, in particular a disabled, chronically ill, fat, BIPOC, trans and/or queer body.

You're seeking solidarity as you navigate oppressive systems, in particular, healthcare and/or education

You are a witch and/or deeply connected to nature

You want to explore and/or deepen your spirituality in a supportive and reflective container

You're desiring access, and permission, to experience pleasure and play as an adult

You want to change or challenge the "too much" or "not enough" storyline on repeat in your life

You are familiar with and engaged in Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy and parts work and are working to understand and integrate inner children and other parts*

You are navigating unknown/unexpected health challenges*

You are curious about and interested in aligning with your authentic spiritual path, which may or may not include connecting to ancestral roots

You desire access, and permission, to rest in a fast-paced culture

You are seeking to understand, connect, and find balance between the mind and the rest of the body

Here’s how something I like to call “P.L.A.Y.” coaching helps to create a container for our coaching relationship

The desired outcome of P.L.A.Y. coaching is to

Playfully
Love
Authentic
You

You might arrive here through coaching sessions that include the following elements:

Play-based
Love-centered
Authentic expression
You lead

What’s the “P” in P.L.A.Y. all about?

When we build from a foundation of PLAY, we are invited to bring thoughtful curiosity, imaginative exploration, and a sense of wonder to our interactions with self, others, and the world around us.

What’s the “L” in P.L.A.Y. all about?

When we place LOVE at the CENTER, we are invited to bring compassion, openness, intuition, and grace to our interactions with self, others, and the world around us.

What’s the “A” in P.L.A.Y. all about?

When we are able to AUTHENTICALLY EXPRESS, we may bring creativity, self-awareness, integrity, and honesty to interactions with self, others, and the world around us.

What’s the “Y” in P.L.A.Y. all about?

When YOU are able to LEAD your own process of healing and growth, you are invited to bring agency, discernment, and empowerment to interactions with yourself, others, and the world around you.

How was P.L.A.Y. coaching born?

Play is at the center of most things I do, in and out of coaching relationships.

Not sure if it’s a younger sibling (and younger than most of the cousins) thing, a chronically healing queer existing outside of many aspects of dominant culture thing, a Gemini sun/Pisces moon combo thing, something else entirely, or if it just IS.

I’m pretty sure it’s all of the above, and then some.

When I went through the marketing portion of coaching cert school, I was encouraged to “niche down” or something like that.

In true rebel-Dirt fashion, I tuned out a lot of what they were asking me to do because it didn’t feel aligned with how I want to authentically (read this as “honestly, and with integrity”) show up in the world.

I don’t want to bait you with false promises of outcomes that you and I both know you might never achieve. How effed is that?

I also don't want to shove myself into a pre-existing ‘niche” and attract people that I don’t actually want to work with and who don’t want to work with me. That doesn’t set either of us up for success.

That’s why I created a coaching framework based on who I already am, what I already do, and how I have shown up in the world for years.

There are so many models for play-based learning and even play-based coaching for kids, but none (that I could find in my limited search on the interwebs) that are geared towards adults (and their inner kiddos, too, of course).

And so… P.L.A.Y. coaching with Surrendirt was born

Coaching Feedback:

“I have recently completed my coaching sessions with Ren. I have to say that I really didn’t know what to expect, but I was very pleasantly surprised. Ren provided me with a few questionnaires to fill out and they were actually fun and informative for me. Then, as our sessions progressed, I was able to find goals that I wanted to accomplish and unique ways in which to do so. The atmosphere on the Zoom calls was always very relaxed and comfortable – no pressure just thoughtful feedback and Ren had a great way of assisting me with finding my own answers – who knew! I find myself thinking about the tools they provided as they seem good to use in my everyday life. A little about me: I am married and have been retired for 6 years, and I am a lifelong Girl Scout – still volunteering!”
