We’ve been dancing and moving since May of 2023 online on the Danceground in Surrendirt to Community, and we are SO excited to take it outdoors with YOU beginning on:

Saturday, September 20th from 2-3:30pm in Northampton, MA!

Now’s the time to gather your friends and loves and start planning your trip to this cozy little corner of Western Mass to dance and move with us to the “Earthbeats 🌱” playlist just as the trees begin to blush the most alluring shades of red, orange, and yellow.

What to expect:

Danceground is our come-as-you-are outdoor freeform dancing and movement space in Western Mass.

No experience is required, and we expect that all participants will do our best to create a judgment-free space to move freely and express.

We welcome, uplift, and celebrate BIPOC, fat, disabled, queer, and any other bodies that are often marginalized in mainstream culture.

We will move to the "Earthbeats 🌱"  playlist, which was born in 2020 as part of a series of "element-based" playlists. We will anchor deep in the core of the earth, connect with the natural world around us, and move to the tune of the earth spells housed in this playlist, as we ground down in the final days of Virgo season, just ahead of the Equinox.

We begin with a welcome and general overview of our playlist and theme, followed by some insights about how to work with the current placement of the moon and any other astrological events as we dance, followed by setting intentions for our time. 

We are then invited to consider guided prompts as we move to the music together for an hour or so (prompts are emailed ahead of time, and a hard copy is available the day of for reference).

We then come back together to check in at the end.

Participants are encouraged to refrain from using cell phones or speaking out loud on the dance floor, expect to gain consent to dance together, in order to create a space for deeper connection.

There is a separate clearing attached to the main Danceground where folks can take a break or enjoy some quieter space away from the music.

There is space along the perimeter of the Danceground for folks to engage in verbal communication while the music is playing.
