All coaching sessions with Dirt (that’s me) are “pay what you can” for the foreseeable future!

I strive to be a human of integrity and believe in being transparent about the hows and whys of shifts like this.

So here’s why and how…

1. I KNOW what it feels like to endlessly search for a coach, or any other member of your care team, only to realize you can’t access care because it’s too expensive and basic needs come first.
   
   

2. I have benefited GREATLY from coaches and healers alike who have either offered “pay what you can” or dropped me to the bottom of their sliding scale so that I may access care, in particular, these last few years while being mostly unemployed and battling chronic illnesses. I want my services to reach those who might need them the most and I am currently in a position to offer this.
   
   

3. Due to unforeseen life circumstances, I have been out of practice from July 2023 until April 2024. My skills are sharp and strong, and also I need more practice before I can feel confident charging the full price. To stay in integrity with the services I am offering, it feels best to me to work with clients who understand this important detail and feel called to pay what they decide each session is worth. This structure will likely eventually shift back to a sliding scale, but for the time being this feels like the best way to move forward with intention and integrity.

Surrendirt to Healing Spotlight 💡

This is a space where I feature one business/creative/human that I LOVE so that you can check them out!

Today I am featuring:
Jess (she/her), Soft Path Healing

Jess is a licensed massage therapist, somatic and SSP practitioner and trauma-informed educator and mentor for healers. She draws from her lived experience as a survivor and her extensive trauma-informed studies. She is a forever student of the nervous system, neuroscience, healing justice and somatic practice.

Jess strives to hold trauma-informed space for all beings and bodies, especially queer folks, chronic pain spoonies, folks who feel left out of many mainstream healing spaces, and folks who have been through developmental, systemic and sexual trauma.

Soft Path Healing operates on stolen Wabanaki land. Jess is committed to anti-oppressive, anti-capitalist business practices and distributes a portion of all profits to collective healing + justice.

Fun Fact: I stumbled upon Jess and Soft Path Healing through her Instagram page just about a year ago. I signed up for one of the LAND SSP cohorts she facilitated last summer and it ended up being a little glittery ball of light during some of the darkest and scariest months of my life. I was hesitant about the group setting as I had just experienced a pretty dysregulating, bordering on traumatic, group experience during my coaching certification class and was hesitant to even speak up during the first couple of LAND SSP sessions.

One of the qualities that I LOVE about Jess, and a big part of why I stuck with the group setting, is the way she shows up in her full humanity. Our group not only nerded out about nervous system regulation, but also bopped around to MMM Bop, and had extensive discussions about Squishmallows and our animal companions. And Jess just showed up exactly as she was each time, with her kickass knowledge of the nervous system and somatic healing, as well as awareness of her own perfectly imperfect human limitations and about her impact as a facilitator.
